Ingredients

2 Tbsp butter
1 small onion, finely chopped (about 1/4 cup)
5 slice small, dry bread cubes
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1 pkg frozen oysters (can used canned equiv)
1/4 c finely chopped celery
1/8 tsp poultry seasoning

I have used this recipe for many holidays. Even if you do not like oysters,which I don't, this is a wonderful dressing. The oysters aren't a strong flavor, but the dressing is so nice and moist.

 

Directions

melt butter. and saute onion and celery over low heat for five minutes or until just tender.Add bread cubes and saute two minutes or until butter is absorbed. Blend in salt and pepper and a dash of poultry season. Add oysters and toss with a fork. Pack lightly in your poultry or cook separately for about 30 to 40 minutes.

My step dad used to make oyster dressing every year for thanksgiving.he never wrote down the recipe and mom didn't pay attention to how he made it. Thank you for sharing.
