Ingredients

  • 1 dairy thermometer
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons plain yogurt (cultured)
  • 3 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup milk powder

How To Make yogurt

  • Step 1
Blend milk powder and milk in blender. Heat milk mixture in a saucepan, stirring constantly. When it reaches 180 F (dairy thermometer), remove from heat.
  • Step 2
Place saucepan in a sink of cool water and cool to 125 F. Stir in yogurt culture. Pour yogurt into a jar or individual dishes.
  • Step 3
Place mixture in a warm place (110 / 120 F) for 6 to 8 hours. Place yogurt in refrigerator until it is ready to be eaten.
  • Step 4
Use in sauces, soups, dressings, baked dishes, or add fruit, or even eat as is. (You may use only milk powder and eliminate milk entirely. In this case it is not necessary to bring mixture to 180 F)
