Spicy Sausage Queso

A big hit at all my parties! Serve with garlic toast, garlic pita chips, or tostados. (Recipe and pic were found on the Johnsonville Sausage site)

16 oz. package of ground italian sausage (medium to hot)
2 lbs melting cheddar cheese or velveeta (i prefer cheddar)
16 oz jar of chunky salsa
1 t. fennel seed crushed
2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. anise seed, crushed
1/4 tsp. dried basil
corn chips, tostados, garlic toast, garlic pita chips etc for dipping

Directions Step-By-Step

In a skillet cook and crumble sausage, till browned and no longer pink. Drain
Put cheese in a large microwave safe bowl and microwave on high for 6 minutes or until melted. (Stir every 2 minutes)
Add salsa and stir. Add seasonings and sausage. Microwave 2 more minutes or until heated thru.
