Blue Ribbon Recipe

Notes from the Test Kitchen:
This is a good stand-by to have at parties or to take to any function. You can always count on having an empty dish at the end of the event! I used medium salsa to make this, but you can spice it up by using a hotter version.


1 pkg
taco seasoning mix
16 oz
refried beans
8 oz
cream cheese, room temperature
16 oz
sour cream
16 oz
tomato, chopped
green bell pepper, chopped
bunch green onions, chopped
small head iceberg lettuce, shredded
6 oz
sliced black olives, drained
2 c
shredded cheddar cheese

Directions Step-By-Step

In a medium bowl, blend the taco seasoning mix and refried beans. Spread the mixture onto a large serving platter.
Mix the sour cream and cream cheese in a medium bowl. Spread over the refried beans.
Top the layers with salsa.
Place a layer of tomato, green bell pepper, green onions, black olives and lettuce over the salsa.
Garnish with shredded cheese.

This is a family favorite. I make it for suppers or lunch. It stores well if you want to put it together and take somewhere. It was a huge success at a recent party. I made it for work and everyone loved it there too. Since finding this recipe I have made it 6 different times in a month and will continue to make it.
