Ingredients For jalapeno chow chow

  • 2 qt
    green tomatoes, small
  • 12 sm
    cucumbers
  • 3 sm
    jalapeno peppers, seeded
  • 1 head
    cauliflower, small florets
  • 2 bunches
    celery
  • 1 pt
    small onions
  • 2 qt
    string beans
  • 1 head
    cabbage
  • 1/4 lb
    mustard seed
  • 2 oz
    tumeric
  • 1/2 oz
    allspice, ground
  • 1/2 oz
    black pepper
  • 1/2 oz
    cloves
  • salt, to taste
  • sugar, to taste - start with 1 c
  • 1 gal
    vinegar

How To Make jalapeno chow chow

  • 1
    Prepare vegetables & cut in small pieces.
  • 2
    Cover with salt, let stand 24 hours & drain.
  • 3
    Heat vinegar, sugar & spices to boiling point, add vegetables & cook until soft.
  • 4
    Can as usual.
