How To Make cheesy broccoli bites w/ honey mustard sauce

  • Step 1
Drain thawed broccoli by pressing through a strainer. Dry well with paper towels.
  • Step 2
In a mixing bowl, beat eggs with a whisk until well combined.
  • Step 3
In a large plastic container, place all ingredients except bread crumbs. Add beaten eggs. Stir together with a spatula until thoroughly combined.
  • Step 4
Refrigerate for 1 hour. NOTE: VERY IMPORTANT...This will bind the mixture together.
  • Step 5
Meanwhile, make dipping sauce. In a medium bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, & Dijon mustard. With a whisk, blend mixture thoroughly.
  • Step 6
Slowly pour in honey & lemon juice & continue mixing until smooth. Cover & refrigerate until ready to use.
  • Step 7
Heat about 4 cups of oil in a deep fryer or deep pan at 350 degrees F.
  • Step 8
Pour bread crumbs into a shallow pan.
  • Step 9
Remove mixture from fridge & form portions into 1" balls & coat well with bread crumbs.
  • Step 10
Place Broccoli Bites into fry basket or pan. Make sure they do not stick together. Fry 1 minute, then remove & place on paper towel lined plate to absorb excess oil.
  • Step 11
Serve hot with Honey Mustard Dipping sauce.
