I found this in our local newspaper and it seemed questionable to me. I tried it, and it turn out pretty good. Best served with tortilla chips or spooned over them nacho-style.

8 X 8 Deep-dish Casserole Dish

Ingredients

1 1/2 c
ketchup
1/2 c
molasses
1/3 c
maple syrup
1/3 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
3
strips of bacon, finely chopped
4 slice
deli ham, finely diced
1 small
yellow onion, finely diced
1/4 c
dijon mustard
1 c
water
3 can(s)
cannellini beans, drained (15 oz.)
1 pkg
cream cheese (8 0z.)
8 oz
shredded cheddar cheese
1 lb
bag of corn tortilla chips

Directions Step-By-Step

1
In a medium sized saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, molasses, maple syrup, brown sugar, bacon, ham, onion, mustard and water. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and cook, stirring often, until very thick, about 2 hours.
2
Add the beans and simmer another 15 minutes.
3
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Then spread the cream cheese in an even layer across the bottom of a deep-dish casserole pan. Spoon the beans and sauce over the cream cheese, then top with cheddar cheese. Bake for 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and heated through.
4
Serve with corn tortilla chips.
