granny's chocolate gravy

This has been handed down through four generation. Every one loves it!! Our family likes it best on hot, homemade buttery biscuits. If you've never had chocolate gravy, its almost like a warm chocolate pudding. (Comfort food)

Ingredients For granny's chocolate gravy

  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • 3 Tbsp
    cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 c
    milk
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 dash
    cinnamon, ground

How To Make granny's chocolate gravy

  • 1
    Mix all dry ingredients in heavy pan.

    Add all wet ingredients, except only 1 TB. of the butter.

    Mix well.
  • 4
    Heat to a low boil, stirring constantly, until thick.
  • 5
    Remove from heat.
  • 6
    Add 1 Tb. butter.
  • 7
    *WILL THICKEN AS IT COOLS*
