Ingredients For crunchy tuna waldorf salad

  • 1 can
    9 1/4 oz. can tuna, packed in water (drained and flaked)
  • 1 lg
    apple, cored and chopped
  • 1/3 c
    celery, chopped
  • 1/3 c
    walnuts, chopped
  • 1/3 c
    raisins, currants or chopped pitted dates
  • 1/2 c
    plain nonfat yogurt (or lowfat)
  • 1/4 c
    mayonnaise
  • large lettuce leaves
  • 1/2 c
    shredded cheddar or monterey jack cheese (2 ounces)

How To Make crunchy tuna waldorf salad

  • 1
    In a medium bowl, combine tuna, apple, celery, walnuts and raisins; set aside.

    In a small bowl combine yogurt and mayonnaise. Add to tuna-fruit mixture; toss gently. Cover, chill before serving.

    To serve, line 4 salad plates with lettuce leaves. Sprinkle cheese over lettuce. Spoon tuna-fruit mixture on top of cheese.
