My grandmother, Mama Jen, made this for our family, and then my mother as well. Once, I was married, I started making it too. It is so good! Sometimes, I eat it for breakfast. Chill time, not included in prep time.

Ingredients For ambrosia by sharon

  • chill time, not included in prep time.
  • 1 c
    mandarin oranges, drained
  • 1 c
    pineapple tidbits, crushed or chunks, drained
  • 1 c
    coconut
  • 1 c
    miniature marshmallows
  • 1 c
    sour cream or light sour cream
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • maraschino cherries (optional)

How To Make ambrosia by sharon

    Drain fruit; save juice if you like. Chill these for an hour, if possible.

    In large bowl, mix sour cream & sugar until sugar is dissolved.

    In same bowl, add fruit & mix together. Add coconut & marshmallows; mix.
  • 4
    Decorate top with Maraschino halves. Chill well. You may add some halved cherries to mixture, if you like. Serves 6.
