This salad is simple to prepare and makes a beautiful presentation. The combination of flavors are delicious. It makes an impressive dish for a luncheon or a salad accompanient for that special dinner meal. I served it for our church's Valentine banquet. It was a hit and several requested the recipe.
Discard seasoning pack from ramen noodles. Use hammer to chop noodles into small pieces. In a large skillet, cook noodles and walnuts in butter over medium heat for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool.
For dressing, in a bowl, whisk sugar, oil, vinegar and soy sauce. Refrigerate if not using immediately.
Right before serving, combine romaine, onions, strawberries and cooled noodle mixture in a pretty salad bowl. Drizzle with dressing and toss gently. Serve immediately with your favorite muffins or sweet bread if using for a luncheon dish.
