3 medium-sized cucumbers,
1 cup (8 ounces) plain yogurt or sour cream
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon white wine vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 garlic clove, minced, or 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1/2 teaspoons chopped fresh dill or 1/2 teaspoon dried dillweed
2 tablespoons chopped scallions
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon sugar (to taste)
