These deviled eggs are so cute. My Grand Children loved them. I saw a recipe in a magazine for this, but I omitted some of the ingredients and adapted it to our taste and likes.

Ingredients For deviled eggs for grandkids

  • 12
    hard boiled eggs
  • 1/2 c
    mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp
    prepared mustard
  • 1/8 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/8 tsp
    salt
  • 1/8 tsp
    paprika
  • 3 sm
    sweet midget pickles(sliced thin for eyes)
  • 1 sm
    red pepper ( for the beaks and center of eyes.)
  • the orginal recipe called for sliced olives, we don't like olives, we subbed pickles

How To Make deviled eggs for grandkids

    Cut a thin slice from the bottom of each egg so it sits flat. Cut a zigzag pattern a third down from the top of each egg. Carefully remove yolks and I add the thin slice of whites place in a small bowl; mash with a fork; Add the mayonnaise, mustard, salt, pepper & paprika, stir until well blended.

    Spoon yolk mixture into the white bottoms; replace tops.

    Slice the pickles in thin slices for eyes. I carved out a small indention in the middle & placed a small piece of red pepper. Cut small triangles from red pepper for beaks. Press the eyes and beaks into egg filling. There you have little peeps.
