Cabbage Salad

My mother made this when ever the cabbages were in the store. Was so nice to have fresh food on the table. I have been know to add some Crushed Red Pepper about 1/4 teaspoon or more if you like it a little hotter.

Ingredients

3 lb
cabbage grated or chopped fine
1
green bell pepper chopped
2 c
sugar
1/2 c
choppd onion
1 c
vinegr
2 Tbsp
sugar
2 Tbsp
celery seed
1 c
oil
2 Tbsp
salt

Step-By-Step

1Mix together and let stand the first (4) ingredients while making dressing
2Bring to boil the last (5) ingredients
3Cool and pour over cabbage mixture. This is better if made the day before you want to use it and will keep refrigerated for several days.
