2 - 15oz can(s) chick peas
1-15oz can(s) black beans
1-15oz can(s) tomatoes, canned italian-style and diced
1/2 chopped onion
1/4 c minced fresh mint
1/4 c minced fresh parsley
1/4 c olive oil, extra virgin
1/2 c cider vinegar
1 clove minced garlic
1 tsp lemon zest, grated
salt and pepper to taste

Marti's Notes:

Balela is on a middle-eastern style salad.
This is not only healthy, but a wonderful change for a salad. You can even serve it in a wrap with chicken or fish.... or just eat it plain or as a side dish... My family loves it..

Directions

Drain liquid from Chickpeas and black beans and pour into a bowl, then mix gently the rest of the ingredients together. Chill and serve...

I make this (minus the mint because I'm alergic to it) , so I use cilantro in it's place, it is very tasty dish . 8]
