My daughters named this fruit salad "The Pink Stuff". Even family and friends call it that now too. It's easy to make and no cooking! You can also change the jello to make it a different color and flavor. I've done grape jello for a purple color too! -Cheryl

I have made this salad many times and my granddaughters also call it "the pink stuff!" I modify the recipe by adding pineapple tidbits and mandarin oranges instead of the fruit cocktail, and I also add chopped walnuts for variety. It's a delicious salad that is so simple to make.

This has been a family "must have" on our holiday tables for nearly 40 years now! We refer to it as Pink Salad. My Mom started it off in the 70s and we all make it for our own families. Family meals with all of us (34 now) present always include 2 VERY large bowls of it!

What size is a small container of cottage cheese? They come in so many sizes now - even single serving.
