This is my version of a waldorf salad. It does NOT last long @ our house!!

Ingredients For nan's fruit salad

  • 3 1/2 - 4 c
    chopped apples (use either delicious or granny smiths or a mix depending on if you want a slightly tart or sweet salad ) (3 or 4 apples depending on size)
  • 1/3 c
    raisins
  • 1 1/4 c
    chopped walnuts
  • 1 1/4 c
    chopped celery
  • 3/4 c
    whipped cream cheese - mixed berry is tasty!
  • 1 1/2 c
    whipped cream
  • 1 Tbsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp
    either apple or pumpkin pie spice

How To Make nan's fruit salad

  • 1
    Chop apples, celery & walnuts.
  • 2
    Place in a 3 qt mixing bowl; chopped apples, raisins, walnuts and celery; set aside.

    Mix together, in 3 or 4 c mixing bowl; cream cheese, whipped cream, vanilla and spices.

    Fold cream cheese and whipping cream mixture into the apples, celery, raisins and walnuts. Mix Well.

    Chill 15 - 20 min. or so before serving. You can sprinkle a little cinnamon or apple pie spice, on top for garnish.
