Put jello in one bowl and cranberry sauce in another. Boil two cups water; add one cup to bowl containing jello; stir until dissolved. Add the other cup of boiling water to the bowl with cranberry sauce; beat until well blended. Combine the two mixtures and add nuts. Place half of the mixture in pan (11 x 7" or 8 x 8"). Put in refrigerator until firmly set. Remove and spread with sour cream and gently add remainder of jello mixture. Return to refrigerator until firm.
