pork steak with mushroom gravy

This recipe will quickly become a family favorite. The meat is very tender and an abundance of delicious gravy makes this a real value meal. This meal is best served with rice!

Ingredients

  • 4 pork steaks
  • 1 lg. onion, chopped
  • 2 cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 1/2 C. water
  • 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
  • 1 Tbs. Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 potatoes (cleaned, cut in half)
  • vegetable oil ( for browning)
  • onion powder
  • garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste

How To Make pork steak with mushroom gravy

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Heat oil in a large heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Brown steaks for 5 minutes on each side. While browning, season each side with onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Arrange potatoes around inside of a 9x13-inch casserole dish, add browned steaks, and sprinkle with chopped onion. In a small bowl, combine condensed mushroom soup, water, onion soup mix and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until smooth; pour over steaks. Cover pan with aluminum foil. Bake in preheated oven for 90 minutes. Serve. May also be prepared in slow cooker on medium temperature for 6 hours.
