Store a package of plain flour in the refrigerator or freezer. Save to use for scalding burns. When you burn yourself put the flour on the burned area such as your hands. Stick your hands in the cold flour for about 10 minutes which will cut the burning sensation and will stop most blistering. This remedy has been used in wars to help soldiers when they are burned. It can be put on any part of your body that gets burned. Use a wrap to hold the flour in place it falls off too quickly such as an arm. The plain flour can be put on burns without being refrigerated. Using the refrigerated flour helps cool the burns better. This works better than putting cold water on it. Water always seems to make it burn more.
