Stormy's Notes:

This takes about a minute and not only keeps your yarn clean but also keeps it flowing freely.

Directions

1
Wash and dry the soda bottle.

With a sharp knife or scissors cut a door in the side of the bottle.

Open it insert yarn with the string that comes from the inside pulled through the top of the bottle. close door and stand up right.

I find that most pails hold 5-6 of the bottles which allows me a carrying case and easy access to colors

Wonderfull idea Stormy. I'm so tired of trying to keep the cats from playing with the yarn, that I haven't played with it myself in a couple of years! LOL

this falls under the "OMG why didnt I think of that" file..saves times used rolling the yarn in a ball which can be a pain to transport at times

Your welcome Paula.

Amie a glass jar will hold a ball in place and it allows the ball to move as you use that yarn. it has worked well for me.

If you have a container from Tide pods with the snap lid, it works wonderfully for holding balls of crochet cotton or smaller skeins of yarn. I am using one right now to hold small skeins for an afghan I am working on. I like that I can put my hook in the container when I'm not working on it and snap the lid shut and my hook doesn't get separated from my project.
