We had frilly lace toppers on our kitchen windows when we moved in. We haven't decided on paint yet and I am so tired of dog walkers looking un at me as they pass. So using 1 king sized sheet I made these until we could decide on a color scheme. But it is an easy idea for those just moving into a apartment or new home. Total project 3 curtains 1 1/2 hours unstalled. All hand sewn
1First fold the top and bottom together and the sheet cut in half (top half from bottom half.)
Taking the bottom half fold side ways in half and cut on the fold. Now you have two pieces. fold then in half keeping the bottom seam together and cut that along the seam. so Now you have 4 panels.
2The above panels you use the nice seam from the bottom of the sheet as the bottom of the curtain. measure the lengh you need my window was 36 long so I made them 39 in these two (adding another 6 inches for the seam.
Sew up both sides if they will be on long if they are very temperary dont bother with the sides.
For the top make a seam like the top of the sheet. sew with a crossover stitch and hang on the tention rod.
3For the last window.
cut the remaining top part or the sheet in half keeping the top with the top when you fold and cut along the fold. set 1 half a side. (Use for something else. I am making a chair cushion)
4With the other panel fold again in half keeping top with top and cut along seam that is the two remaining panels.
These will be hung from the top part. deside your lengh and sew a small sean like the bottom of the sheet had and either sew the sides and hand or hand as is
