I have been trying to find an answer on how to keep brown sugar from becoming hard and lumpy, forever. I now have found the perfect solution and I want to pass along my tip. I am excited with my results! I hope you will be too!

Ingredients

brown sugar

canning jar, any size
glad wrap 'press and seal'

Directions Step-By-Step

You can use any size canning jar (I use 1/2 gallon). Make sure your jar is very clean. I purchase my sugar from Sam's Club in a large package now.

1 small sheet of GLAD 'Press and Seal'

I use my canning funnel to fill the jar. After it is full, I take the sheet of 'Press and Seal' sticky side down and place it over top but keep a little dip in the opening so cover will close. Close cover after sealing around all edges both top of rim and sides. Latch the top with the metal closure. Work the wrap around the top and take advantage of the stickiness by sealing as much as possible after closed around the jar.

I kept a jar of brown sugar all summer in my pantry. When I opened it, it was just as soft as when I put it in and sealed it initially.
