This is by far one of the funniest Christmas games to play with a group of people. It is a unique story that is read out loud and every time the word "right" or "left" is used you must pass your gift accordingly. The first time I played was at work and they chose to use "white elephant" gifts. Meaning that they were to be $1 dollar gifts. It was so much fun but some really strange things got upwrapped to say the least. lol Well, I loved it so much I added this game into my Cookie Exchange and made it a Christmas ornament instead. You'll have fun either way. But, be prepared for laughter and the reader stopping at certain points because when there is alot of people it gets crazy!! I hope you enjoy this game.

How To Make a right family christmas game

  • 1
Choose an ornament you would love to get and wrap or put inside a festive bag for the exchange.
  • 2
Gather friends and family and share in a Right Family Christmas by inviting everyone to bring a wrapped Christmas ornament. You can put a price on the gift if you want such as $2 to $5 for each ornament. I have done this every year at my Cookie Exchange parties and it is always a big hit with everyone. Have everyone get in a circle with their wrapped gift in hand. Now, it's time to read the story.

Version 1 ----Read slowly because it gets confusing if you don't. A Right Family Christmas Let me introduce you to the right family. Mr. Right, Mrs. Right, Sammy Right, Susie Right & little Billy Right. Sammy Right has been away in the army and made it home for Christmas. The Right household was decorated with the left over greenery from the tree Mr. Right brought home from Uncle Lefty’s tree lot. Susie Right & Billy Right were so excited because the doorbell rang & there stood Uncle Lefty and Aunt Leftonia. Uncle Lefty was loaded down with just the right gifts for everyone. Aunt Leftonia had baked all the right cookies and pies. Mrs. Right called everyone for dinner. Food was passed to the left and right. Everyone ate heartily & there was not much left. They all settled back to listen to Sammy Right tell tales of his adventures in the army. It brought back memories to Uncle Lefty of marching in the army himself. He could hear his old drill Sergeant Joe Righty calling out “Left, Left, Left, Right, Left.” Mrs. Right woke Uncle Lefty from his daydreams when she called everyone to go to the Right family Christmas tree. Everyone settled around the left side of the tree and Mr. Right handed out all the gifts to the right people. Only one gift was left and when Mr. Right opened it up the message was to Have a Right Merry Christmas!!!!!

Version 2 --- Another Right Family Christmas It seems like just yesterday since we visited the Right family for Christmas. How time flies!!! Little Susie Right is not so little anymore. Susie Right is all grown up and is planning her wedding. She is so glad she has found ‘Mr. Right’ to spend what’s left of her life with him. Susie right had to find just the right time to introduce her new beau to her father, Mr. Right. Susie Right took a deep breath and lead her special man, Lefty Leftowich into the den to meet the Right family where they were gathered to celebrate a good old-fashioned Right family Christmas. Everyone was there, Mr. Right, Mrs. Right, Sammy Right & little Billy Right. Of course we can’t forget Uncle Lefty and Aunt Leftonia! The Right family home was decorated in it’s best Christmas finery. Imagine Uncle Lefty’s delight to discover his favorite niece had chosen a ‘Lefty’ to be her lifelong mate! Uncle Lefty was sure she had made the right choice. Susie Right and Lefty Leftowich made their introductions and happily settled down to make all the right plans for their upcoming wedding. What a happy time the entire Right family was having. Mr. Right was having visions of his hard earned money flying out the door into the hands of everyone he would have to pay for this wedding. Mrs. Right had an endless smile on her face as she thought of the inevitable pitter-patter of little feet from the Leftowich grandchildren that was sure to come along. What a wonderful Christmas the Right family was having. What more was left for anyone to ask for.
