There are only a few steps to the recipe and it's a really cool way to prepare your holiday turkey. It browns the turkey evenly, and the moist meat is fall off the bone. Plus, it keeps the oven clean!

Ingredients For turkey in a bag

  • 8-12 lb
    turkey, thawed
  • 1 stick
    butter, unsalted
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • cooking spray
  • brown paper bag, unused

If using a thermometer, a corded digital one is recommended because it can be weaved through the folded bag.
  • Spraying a paper bag with cooking spray.

    Spray the inside of a brown paper bag with cooking spray.
  • Separating the skin from the turkey.

    Separate skin from turkey.
  • Placing butter under the skin.

    Place slices of butter between skin and meat.
  • Sprinkling salt and pepper over the turkey.

    Sprinkle salt and pepper between skin and on top of turkey.
  • Closing the paper bag.

    Place turkey in bag. Close bag securely.
  • Roasting the turkey in the oven.

    Bake turkey for 20 minutes per pound at 325 F.
