Kids love this stew, it reminds everyone of a pizza. Very hearty stew. Serve w/ crusty italain bread.

Ingredients For slow-cooked italian pizza stew

  • 8 oz
    cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 3/4 c
    chopped green bell pepper
  • 1/3 c
    chopped onion
  • 1 tsp
    dried italian herbs
  • 1/4 tsp
    each, salt and pepper
  • 2 c
    prego marinara sauce
  • 1-1/4 lb
    ground turkey breast
  • 3/4 c
    heart healthy bisquick mix
  • 1/3 c
    parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 tsp
    dried oregano
  • 1/4 c
    fat-free milk
  • 1/2 c
    reduced=fat shredded mozzarella cheese

How To Make slow-cooked italian pizza stew

    In a 4-quart slow-cooker, combine mushrooms, green bell pepper, onion, italian herbs, salt and pepper. Pour marinara sauce over veggies.

    Break up ground turkey w/ a spoon. Add turkey to cooker. Cover, cook on low for 3 hrs. In a bowl, combine bisquick mix, parmesan cheese, oregano and milk.

    Stir until well combined. Put cooker on high. Drop dough by tbsp fulls into 5 mounds on top of mix in cooker. Cover, cook 45 mins. Sprinkl e w/ mozzarella cheese.
