Ingredients For cumin rubbed steak

  • 2 tsp
    brown sugar
  • 2 tsp
    paprika, optional
  • 1 tsp
    garlic pepper seasoning
  • 1 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 1 tsp
    ground oregano
  • 1/2 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground thyme
  • 2 lb
    boneless beef top sirloin steak, about 1- inch thick
  • 2 lb
    or boneless steak (your choice)

How To Make cumin rubbed steak

    In small bowl, stir together brown sugar, paprika, garlic pepper, cumin, oregano, onion powder, salt, and thyme. Make shallow diagonal slashes in both directions on both sides of steak. Rub steak evenly on both sides with seasoning mixture. Cover; set aside.

    Heat grill to medium direct heat. Place steak on grill rack. Grill, covered, 5 to 8 minutes per side or until desired doneness. Let stand 3 to 5 minutes before serving. Cut steak into thin slices and serve with grilled onion and bell pepper kabobs, if desired.
