Chicken Slaw Sub ! Winner Winner! Chicken Dinner! I had left over chicken, French Bread, and coleslaw.... and 4 hungry children! This was what the kids and I decided to make, and it was a big hit with the kids and adults, so we make this when ever we have left over chicken of any type and cooked by any method... even barbequed chicken is great (just adds more flavor). This is such an easy recipe to please your family with... We had these again to eat while watching the World Series... Go Cubs! Play With Your Food ! xo

How To Make chicken slaw sub

  • 1
Remove bones and skin from chicken pieces, then break apart the meat (or cut up or shred). Put meat into pan with broth ( can use water or gravy). Add spices. Stir well. Heat to a boil, then simmer while stirring until liquid is gone but chicken is moist. Add the cheese. Turn heat off. Stir gently, when cheese is melted, start making subs!

Cut the French bread into the desired size of subs that is appropriate for each person. A grown man may want a big sub, while a small child only needs a small sub. Cut the sub buns almost all the way through the middle to make a space for the fillings.
  • 3
Put the hot chicken mixture on the bottom half of sub bun. Put coleslaw on the top half of sub bun.
  • 4
Optional: At this time, let each person add anything extra to sub... my granddaughter added hot sauce to hers.
  • 5
Fold over the two halves of sub bun together to form sandwich.
  • Evie likes hers with hot sauce on it.
    6
    Serve!
  • 7
    Dig in!
  • Paxton has a smaller sub... because he is smaller...
