Ingredients For whistling dixie pork chops

    center cut pork chops (medium thickness
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    sage, dried
  • 4
    cored tart apples (granny smith), sliced into rings
  • 1/4 c
    dark brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • 1 c
    hot water
  • 1 Tbsp
    white wine vinegar
  • 1/2 c
    raisins

How To Make whistling dixie pork chops

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

    Brown the pork chops in small amount of fat in a skillet & sprinkle with salt & sage.

    Place in a casserole dish & top with the apple rings. Sprinkle with brown sugar.

    Add flour to the remaining fat in the skillet & blend.

    Add the water & vinegar & cook until thick, stirring constantly.

    Add the raisins to the vinegar mixture & then pour over chops.
