onions, spanish or vadalia, peeled
ground beef, ground pork, or ground turkey (your choice)
cream cheese, room temperature
cream of mushroom soup
1Parboil onions in boiling salted water for about 20 minutes.
2when they are done enough to remove the center portion, do so, and chop the centers very fine.
3Mix the cream cheese with the soup and set to the side.
4In another bowl, mix chopped onion, meat, rice, egg, and half of the cream cheese mixture.
5Stuff onion with the meat mixture and place in a buttered casserole dish, and bake at 350 degrees for about 30 to 35 minutes (until meat mixture is done).
6Add milk to the remaining cream cheese mixture and heat to a boiling point. Be careful not to scorch it. Use as a gravy to put atop the stuffed onions. Enjoy!
