Ingredients For soda pop ribs

  • 1 - 12 oz can
    dr. pepper, cherry pepsi, cherry 7-up, coca cola, etc.
  • 1/2 c
    ketchup
  • 1/4 c
    dark brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/8 c
    apple cider vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce, reduced sodium
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    coriander
  • 2 tsp
    cinnamon, ground
  • 2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 slab
    pork spare ribs

How To Make soda pop ribs

    Prepare grill on medium heat.

    In a large pot, add soda pop of choice, ketchup, 2 tbsp brown sugar, vinegar, worcestershire, 1 tsp coriander, 1/2 tsp cinnamon & 1/2 tsp garlic powder. Over medium high heat, bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium, cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened, 30 minutes. Reserve.

    Meanwhile, combine salt, 2 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tbsp coriander, 1 tsp cinnamon & 1 tsp garlic powder. Rub mixture over both sides of ribs. Place ribs over direct heat. Grill, turning once, until browned, 10 minutes per side.

    Place ribs, meaty side down, over indirect heat. Cover, grill 15 minutes. Turn ribs over; cover & grill until tender, 1 1/2 - 2 hours, brushing with 1/2 of the reserved sauce several times during last 15 - 20 minutes of cooking time. Serve ribs with remaining sauce.
