Ingredients

4-6
sweet italian sausage
1/2 c
sweet onion, sliced
2 clove
garlic, minced
15 oz
can of dice tomatoes w/oregano, basil & garlic, no salt added, pureed in food processor
2 slice
bacon, diced
2 c
mushrooms, sliced
1/4 stick
unsalted butter
1/2 c
parmesan cheese
1 lb
dry pasta

Step-By-Step

1Slice sausage links in 1/2" slices, place in skillet with diced bacon, onion and garlic and cook until browned. Drain off grease and add mushrooms, puree diced tomatoes, a few drops of lemon juice and a pinch of sugar and salt to taste. Allow to simmer for about 20 min.
2Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain pasta, add butter and stir until melted. Add 1/4 c parmesan and toss. Now add to sauce and toss well to coat. Garnish with Parmesan and Basil.
