This is our favorite Italian Meat Sauce, been making it for about 10 years now. As with many recipes we make that include garlic, we usually bump up the quantity more than what's documented as we're garlic heads!

Ingredients

1 Tbsp
olive oil, extra virgin
1 lb
ground beef
1 lb
ground pork
1 small
onion, chopped
2 clove
garlic, minced
37 oz
tomato sauce
6 oz
tomato paste
3
dried red chili peppers, trimmed and chopped
3
bay leaves, dried
1 Tbsp
italian seasoning
1 tsp
oregano, dried

Directions Step-By-Step

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil, add onion and meat, stirring to crumble until juices run clear. Drain, if needed

Add remaining ingredients, reduce heat and simmer for at least 30 minutes (the longer, the better).

Discard bay leaves.
