Mary Lee, could you help me out with what type of ham is best to buy.If you know a brand, that's fine. What I need to know is if a precooked ham as some of them are, are better or not versus a whole ham, boneless, or semi-boneless.I usually buy a boneless precooked but it tend to be salty and dry. Thanks for you help, Sandy.

Sandy the kind of ham is any ones choice. This recipe works for any type ham. I just bought our store brand precooked "butt" portion. I've only had 1 spiral ham when I still had family to cook for and I wasn't happy with it at all . As for a whole ham, I'm kind of on a budget and I watch prices closely. Also, being that I'm a widow , a small butt portion ham suites my needs. There is enough bone and meat leftover to make a good pot of split pea soup or ham n beans. Good luck Sandy .. if I can be of any other help send me a message. Mary Lee
