easy sweet-and-sour pork

I love this quick and easy dinner, especially on busy days. Just assemble it and put it in the crock pot and forget it. Come dinner time it's hot and ready to eat. Once prepared it looks like you spent a lot of time making it...only you know that it didn't. A family pleaser and oh, so...good! (PS) I like to brown the pork on the stove with olive oil first, before adding it to the crock pot. But it isn't necessary.

Ingredients For easy sweet-and-sour pork

  • 1
    onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 lb
    pork loin, cubed
  • 14 oz
    can chicken broth
  • 10 oz
    bottle sweet-and-sour sauce
  • 15 1/4 oz
    can pineapple chunks, drained
  • 2
    green or red peppers, chopped
  • 1 c
    converted rice, uncooked (i use uncle ben's)

How To Make easy sweet-and-sour pork

    Place onion in a 5-quart slow cooker; top with pork, broth and sauce. Cover and cook on high for one hour. Then, reduce heat to low setting and cook 3-1/2 hours.

    Add pineapple, green peppers and rice and mix well. Cover and cook on low setting for 1-1/2 hours.
