Eastern North Carolin BBQ

This is my honey's favorite sauce. We searched high and low for just the right sauce and this is the closest I have been able to find that lives up to Smithfield's famous bbq. I use it to cook pulled pork in the crock pot, and then to pour over the meat after. It can be a little spicy, so you have to be careful! The longer it sits in the fridge the tastier, and spicier, it gets.

2 qt
cider vinegar
1/4 tsp
2 Tbsp
cayenne pepper
3 Tbsp
red pepper flakes
1 c
brown sugar
1 Tbsp
hot sauce

Directions Step-By-Step

Mix all ingredients until salt and sugar dissolve.
Cover and let sit for at least 3 hrs.
Use to cook, or to baste, or dip, or anything!
