When you just can't get to the smoker for good pork, this recipe is great. It is tasty and flavorful, and really easy. By using alcohol, you eliminate the need to brine the pork, saving loads of time

pork shoulder or pork butt
4 clove
garlic, smashed
1 bottle
hard cider, i use woodchuck
2 oz
dark spiced rum
3 c
organic chicken broth
2 tsp
chile powder
1 tsp
ground cumin
salt and pepper
3 Tbsp
light brown sugar

Directions Step-By-Step

combine all ingredients, except the pork, in slow cooker and mix well
place the pork in the cooker
set cooker on low and cook for 6-8 hours.
when done, it should almost fall apart. Take the pork out of the cooker and shred it in a separate bowl. If there are any larger pieces of fat, you can get rid of them or mix them back in with the pork. put the pork back in the cooker to soak up the juices, serve warm. Enjoy!
