Braised Hoisin Ribs with Beer

beef ribs or short ribs
inch pc. ginger, peeled into 1/4" slices
Season the ribs with salt and pepper. Heat the oil in a pot with a lid over high heat. Brown the ribs on all sides Remove the ribs from the pot
Return the pot to the stove, and saute the garlic and ginger on med. heat for about 3 mins. Add the ribs, beer, vinegar and water to the pot. Stir and then cover and simmer for 2 hours.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Pour the Hoisin sauce over the ribs, move the pot to the oven, and cook uncovered for 30 mins.
Remove ribs and ginger from the sauce and pour the remaining sauce over the ribs for extra flavor.
