Bacon Crescents

Diane Schmidt

Originally this was an appetizer recipe and you cut the crescent roll dough into smaller bite size pieces and you can certainly do that if you want but my family likes the bigger size for a meal instead. LOL it's also faster to make and easier to make them sandwich size too!

pinch tips: Perfect Bacon Every Time

20 Min

1 pkg
8 oz. cream cheese
8 slice
bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled
1/3 c
parmigiano-reggiano, grated
1/4 c
finely chopped green onion (whites and green parts)
2 Tbsp
chopped fresh parsely
1 Tbsp
2 can(s)
8 0z. refridgerated crescent rolls
egg beaten
1 tsp
cold water
poppy seeds

Directions Step-By-Step

Heat oven to 375*
Beat the cream cheese, bacon, parmesan cheese, onion, parsley, and milk in a small mixing bowl at medium speed with an electric mixer untl well blended.
Separate the crescent roll dough into triangles. Spread each roll with cream cheese mixture. Place on greased cookie sheet and brush with combined egg and water. sprinkle with poppy seeds.
* For appetizers, roll out the crescent roll dough and press perferations together so you have a large rectangle of dough. Spread the cream cheese mixture onto the rectangle and then roll up the dough so you have a large log. then slice the log into about half inch slices or so and the place on greased baking sheet.
Bake 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve while hot.
