This is a fun recipe. It has a fun name, is fun to make and just as fun to eat. Let this Slumgoli slow cook in the oven for a couple of hours while you sit back and relax. Easy to prepare and delicious to eat. Serve with a salad and crunchy bread and good wine. This is also a good dish for a get together with family and friends. Enjoy!

Ingredients

1
pound ground beef
6
slices bacon, fried crisp, drained and crumbled
1
medium chopped onion
1
can creamed corn
1
small can sliced mushrooms, drained
1
small can sliced olives, drained
1
small can tomato sauce
8
ounces wide noodles, cooked al dente, and drained
2
tablespoons gebhardt chili powder
1/4
teaspoon leaf thyme
2
teaspoons minced garlic
1/4
cup fresh grated parmesan cheese
salt and pepper to taste
1/4
cup chopped parsley to garnish

Directions Step-By-Step

1
Fry the bacon in a large skillet, remove and drain on paper towels, crumble when cool. Drain the grease.
2
Add the ground beef to the skillet and lightly brown it.
3
Note: only cook the noodles al dente and then drain them so they won't be overcooked.
4
Remove the ground beef and bacon to a large mixing bowl, with the cooked noodles, and add the chopped onion to the skillet, and cook for five minutes until tender.
5
Add the cooked onions to the mixing bowl, creamed corn, mushrooms, sliced olives and tomato sauce. Stir to combine. Then add the Gebhardt chili powder, leaf thyme, and salt and pepper to taste, mix again. (Gebhardt chili is more mild than other brands)
6
Transfer the contents of the mixing bowl to a large casserole dish that has a lid. Add the grated parmesan cheese.
7
Bake in the oven covered at 250 degrees for 2 hours. This allows the flavors to blend.
8
Garnish the serving with fine chopped parsley.

Here is how it looks. Enjoy!
