In a skillet place butter and minced or grated garlic cloves, do not let butter brown, add the cream cheese and heat through, cream cheese will sort of melt into the butter mixture, add milk or half and half a little at a time, allowing sauce to thicken, may add more if thinner sauce is desired. Whisk mixture so there are no lumps. Cook the pasta til aldente'. Salt and pepper sauce to taste. Pour over cooked pasta, may sprinkle with Parmesan or Asiago cheese.For variety you can add grilled chicken. Delicious. If sauce is too thin, add in some more cream cheese.
