Creamy cheesy dish made with healthy pasta and topped with a seasoned bread crumb mixture

Ingredients

1 pkg
ronzoni garden delight rotini
5 Tbsp
butter or margarine, divided
2 Tbsp
dried seasoned bread crumbs
3 Tbsp
all purpose flour
3 c
milk
2 c
shredded cheddar cheese, divided
1 1/2 c
cubed fully cooked ham steak (8 oz). i skip the ham and it's still fabulous, would be great with chicken too

Directions Step-By-Step

Cook pasta according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tbsp butter. Add bread crumbs; cook until browned. Remove from skillet; reserve. In same skillet over medium heat, melt remaining butter. Stir in flour and cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Add milk all at once. Cook and stir until mixture boils. Cook 2 minutes more. Stir in 1 1/2 cups cheese and ham. Add hot pasta to skillet; toss to coat. Top with remaining cheese and buttered crumbs.
