1cut up polish sausage and fry in butter. I use an iron skillet. after you fry both sides set aside for now. boil cut up and peeled apples in brown sugar when tender set aside and do not pour out juice. boil red cabbage in a pan by itself til boils down enough to add a little grease then boil til purple water appears and cabbage is tender pour off purple water. I cut up cabbage too in shreds. Then pour apples and juice in the cabbage add a stick of butter a little brown sugar and the polish sausage and simmer for a 30 minutes and it is ready to serve. make some cornbread.
