Ingredients For peas, potatoes and milk

  • 1 lb
    fresh shelled peas
  • 12
    small new potatoes- scrubbed
  • 2 c
    water
  • dash salt
  • 2 c
    milk or half and half
  • 1/4 stick
    butter
  • salt and pepper to season
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp
    onion powder, or you can finely chop up a little onion

How To Make peas, potatoes and milk

    In a big sauce pan cook the peas, potatoes and water and a dash of salt until tender, when cooked I always mash a potatoe to help thichen broth. Add the milk or half and half, butter and salt, pepper and onion powder, cook on medium low heat for 20 min. or so. serve in soup bowls and you'v got a nice old fashion dinner, with some crusty rolls to go with it.
