uncle ben's wild rice
1 can(s)
sliced water chestnuts
1 can(s)

salt and pepper to taste

Directions Step-By-Step

Cut off top of pumpkin and completely remove the insides of the pumpkin. Brown ground beef and sausage; saute vegetables. Drain grease. Put back in pan; add remaining ingredients and mix together. Put all ingredients inside the pumpkin and bake at 325 degrees for 3 hours. ENJOY!!
Using Italian Sausage makes it a little spicier but you can use just regular sausage.

Uncle Ben's is 6oz you'll have to eyeball the seasoning packet. I would guess at least 2 tbls maybe a td more.

I'm making this tonight because no one was home last evening and I wasn't going to make it just for myself. I copied the directions wrong and left out the onion and green pepper. I had an onion but no pepper. I'm sure it will still be yummy!

So glad you liked it, Donna; it is perfect for a Halloween dinner or BUNKO!!! Yes, I do think it should be made in the pumpkin and no other way. It would lose its "oomph" to not have it in the pumpkin!
