Ingredients

  • turtle cut into pieces
  • beaten egg
  • bread crumbs

How To Make fried turtle

  • Step 1
    Dry the pieces of turtle which have been cut into small size at the variuos joints. Dip into scrambled egg mixture and roll in bread crumbs.
  • Step 2
    In a dutch oven , or covered electric frying pan with hot oil covering the bottom at 400 F, sear the turtle so that it is brown on all side. Then turn the heat down to 275 F and let simmer gently with the cover on for 3 hours.
  • Step 3
    It will melt in your mouth. Some turtle catchers and eaters recommend par-boiling before other methods of cooking.
