Crock pot venison steaks

- 1-2 lb
- venison round steaks
- 4-5 Tbsp
- oil ( i use a mix of olive and canola)
- celery stalks, cut in 1 inch pieces
- onions, yellow, medium sliced
- 2-3 clove
- sliced garlic (to taste)
- green bell pepper (or red) sliced
- 1/2 lb
- sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 c
- 3/4 c
- wine (any dry that you would drink)
- fresh grated orange zest
- salt and pepper to taste
1Rinse steaks well. Trim and cut into pieces. Heat oil and slightly saute steaks.
2Place steaks, celery, garlic, and onions to crock pot. Mix water with vingar to make about 1 cup liquid. Pour over meat and vegetables. Cook on low about 4 hours.
3Mix water and wine and add to pot, along with peppers and mushrooms. Grate some orange zest (about 2-3 tablespoons)into pot. Stir slightly. Cook about another hour or two, until meat is tender and falls apart.
4Serve with rice, noodles, or just crusty bread and a salad.
