Ingredients For crock pot venison steaks

  • 1-2 lb
    venison round steaks
  • 4-5 Tbsp
    oil ( i use a mix of olive and canola)
  • 2-3
    celery stalks, cut in 1 inch pieces
  • 2-3
    onions, yellow, medium sliced
  • 2-3 clove
    sliced garlic (to taste)
  • 1
    green bell pepper (or red) sliced
  • 1/2 lb
    sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 c
    vinegar
  • 3/4 c
    wine (any dry that you would drink)
  • fresh grated orange zest
  • salt and pepper to taste

How To Make crock pot venison steaks

    Rinse steaks well. Trim and cut into pieces. Heat oil and slightly saute steaks.

    Place steaks, celery, garlic, and onions to crock pot. Mix water with vingar to make about 1 cup liquid. Pour over meat and vegetables. Cook on low about 4 hours.

    Mix water and wine and add to pot, along with peppers and mushrooms. Grate some orange zest (about 2-3 tablespoons)into pot. Stir slightly. Cook about another hour or two, until meat is tender and falls apart.

    Serve with rice, noodles, or just crusty bread and a salad.
