Slow Cooker Crock Pot

Ingredients

1 lb
dry red kidney beans
1 tsp
bacon grease
1 large
onion, chopped
3 stalk(s)
celery, chopped
6 clove
garlic, minced
2 tsp
onion powder
2 tsp
garlic powder
1 lb
diced ham
1 lb
smoked sausage, sliced
2-3 Tbsp
creole seasoning (i use tony chachere's)
3
bay leaves
hot cooked white rice

Step-By-Step

1Soak beans overnight.
2Rinse beans and put in the crock pot and cover with water. Add all chopped celery and onion, garlic & onion powder, creole seasoning, bacon grease bay leaves. Turn slow cooker on high.
3Cook beans for 3-4 hours. Add smoked sausage and ham.
4Turn the heat to low and cook for another hour or so until beans are tender and liquid has thickened.
5Ladle red beans over hot cooked white rice.
