When I buy oxtails it's a toss up between oxtail soup and baked oxtails,both are so deliscous!
Baked oxtails are so simple to make,good with mashed potatoes
or add sliced potatoes.Sweet potatoes are a good change of pace.Add potatoes after meat is done,cook until potatoes are tender.

Rinse oxtails.Season with salt,pepper and garlic.Place in oven proof dish,cover with onions,the more the better,add water half way up to the oxtails,Cover,bake in a 300 deg oven until oxtails are falling off the bone.Check once in a while to make sure water has not evaporated.Skim fat from juices and serve.

I've done this with short ribs...melt in your mouth!!! Gonna try this with onions and 'kraut. Glad I checked this out. Thanks for sharing. Happy Cookin'
