These chops are delectable! Smothered in a sauce full of portabella mushrooms and bacon.

Ingredients For smothered pork chops w/ bacon and mushrooms

  • 4 slice
    bacon
  • 3 lb
    boneless pork loin chops, 1/2"-thick
  • 2 tsp
    garlic and herb seasoning, like mrs. dash
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt and pepper
  • 1/2 c
    flour
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 sm
    onion, diced
  • 8 oz
    portabella mushrooms
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp
    minced garlic
  • 3 c
    milk, i used fat free
  • 1 Tbsp
    thyme leaves, crushed, divided
  • oil, like canola

How To Make smothered pork chops w/ bacon and mushrooms

    Cook bacon in lg skillet, over med-high heat. Drain on paper towels, let cool, crumble, set aside. In small bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup flour , 1 tsp garlic and herb seasoning, salt and pepper.

    Season the chops w/ flour mix. In lg skillet, add a little oil and brown chops 2 mins, each side. Remove chops from pan. Add onion, mushrooms, worcestershire sauce and 1/2 the thyme to skillet. Scrape the bits up from skillet. Add remaining garlic and herbs and 1/2 tsp salt.

    Cook, stirring 10 mins.Add garlic, cook 1 min. Sprinkle onion and mushrooms w/ 1/4 cup flour. Cook over med-low until flour is dissolved. Add milk, slowly while stirring over med-high heat until it starts to thicken. Mix in remaining thyme, add chops to pan, simmer 10 mins. Sprinkle w/ bacon.
